I met Kelsey and Braxton on the Oregon Coast at the Lets Go Workshop in April. They were newlyweds just shy of their first-year anniversary. They had the electric playfulness of the deeply in love, and they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. We danced up and down Canon Beach together, through the salty breeze and patchy sunshine. They held each other close and ran across the sand. Their love and affection for each other was so much fun to document.
Kelsey wore the Venus gown by Claire la Faye, a Portland Oregon based designer. Her silk organza ball gown sported tulle layering, a full skirt, three corseted bodices and a 3-foot train. It was simply elegant and a great deal of fun to watch Kelsey waltz along the beach in her gown like a queen while Braxton admired her.
The Venus dress is from Claire La Faye’s “current line of ethereal bridal gowns”. It perfectly encompasses Claire’s other worldly style and magical flare, as so many of her unique designs do. Claire describes her line of dresses as: “Inspired by a need for the rare and unexpected. Claire La Faye offers a style for woman that is wearable, feminine and most unforgettable.”
Indeed, her gown was most unforgettable, especially framed by the dreamy Oregon Coast and deeply applauded by her husband. Kelsey and Braxton danced along the shoreline that beautiful day in April. It was cold, but they played so sweetly together that you wouldn’t have known. I photographed their tenderness and devotion, and I documented them as excited newlyweds ready to take on the greatest adventure of their lives.
Our time together was easy and fun. It was clear they had great time playing at Canon Beach that day, and because they enjoyed each other so much, they were naturally affectionate and loving on camera.
